Challenge
The LA Dodgers wanted their second annual One Piece Night — a matchup against the San Diego Padres on July 2, 2026 — to top the first, giving a sold-out crowd a finale that matched the scale of a night already packed with exclusive giveaways, anime sequences on the video board, and Monkey D. Luffy throwing out the first pitch.
Solution
Working directly with One Piece's IP team, we choreographed an 11-minute postgame drone show synced in real time with the stadium's video screens. Characters and iconic moments from the series came to life overhead, closing on a "To be continued..." that sent the crowd home already thinking about next year.
Results
One Piece Night sold out and set a new Dodger Stadium and MLB attendance record for the season, with the drone show finale cementing itself as a signature moment fans now look forward to each year. The show wasn't just a finale — it was the reason people stayed, and a thing they shared online for days to follow.
Why It Worked
The drone show wasn't the activation — it was the payoff. Every element of the night, from the giveaways to Luffy on the mound, was building toward something. Having the show close it out gave the whole evening a finale it earned, and that's exactly what makes experiential marketing so powerful.
