Pixis Brings Home Gold and Silver at 2023 Experience Design and Technology Awards

In a double-dose of exciting news, Pixis Drones has won the Gold and Silver Awards in the Best Use of Drones category at the 2023 Experience Design Technology Awards.  

The dual honor saw the industry-leading drone light show agency bring home First Place Gold for its innovative Stella & Chewy’s Pet Friendly July 4th Silent Firework Drone Show, and Second Place Silver for the NYC Hip Hop 50 anniversary celebration event that took place across New York City on August 5th. 

The Stella & Chewy’s event, held in Santa Monica, California, was both a July 4th celebration, and a new product launch in support of the upstart pet food company. But there was even more to it than that - as attendees were encouraged to bring their pets - who traditionally experience great discomfort and anxiety with traditional fireworks - to enjoy the silent stars-and-stripes event alongside their favorite humans. The result was an incredible visual spectacle that also received favorable notices from animal rights groups and dog lovers of all kinds.

The City of New York was the client for the Silver Medal-winning NYC Hip Hop 50 anniversary drone light show Pixis put on in August. The event was a tribute to half a century of New York born-and-bred hip hop music and culture. To ensure the entire city got proper recognition, drone shows were launched across each of the five boroughs of Manhattan. They featured stunning animations and imagery from East Coast hip-hop history’s most influential artists and moments.

Held annually by well-respected industry voice EventMarketer, the Experience Design Technology Awards recognizes outstanding design and technology achievements in experiential marketing. 2023 is the first year the event has featured an award category that specifically recognizes outstanding technical and creative achievements in drone light shows.
